BREAKING: THE U.S. HAS CAPTURED VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT MADURO
U.S. officials say American forces carried out a large-scale military operation in Venezuela and have captured President Nicolás Maduro.
The operation reportedly took place in the early hours of January 3, 2026, involving airstrikes and a special-operations raid.
President Donald Trump announced that Maduro and his wife were “captured and flown out of the country.”
U.S. officials say Maduro is now in American custody and will be brought to the United States to face long-standing federal charges related to narco-terrorism and drug trafficking.
Maduro has been under U.S. indictment since 2020, and in recent years Washington labeled his government a “narco-state,” even offering a reward of up to $50 million for information leading to his arrest.
Inside Venezuela, the situation remains tense.
Explosions and low-flying aircraft were reported over Caracas and other regions during the operation.
Venezuelan authorities say they do not know Maduro’s current location, have declared a national emergency, and are condemning the strike as an illegal act, demanding proof of life.
